AICSA and Service Skills SA are very pleased to be releasing the Creative Futures Report today. The report was produced by the Arts Industry Council of South Australia in conjunction with Service Skills SA, the Department of Further Education Employment Science and Technology, and Innovation Business Skills Australia.
The Creative Futures Report draws on the Your Creative Future survey undertaken by 772 individuals and 164 businesses, to capture the workforce needs of the arts, creative and cultural sectors in South Australia. Many of you completed the survey and helped spread it through your networks – thank you!
The Creative Futures Report provides an overview of workforce development needs and outlines recommendations to begin addressing them, including close government collaboration, funding for a facilitator to maximise training and professional development opportunities for the creative industries, and to repeat the successful Skills For Creative Events program to support the production needs of state’s festivals.
The report also highlights calls among the creative industry for an arts policy, additional investment in arts infrastructure and long-term funding commitments.
